Petrobras’s, Brazil’s state-controlled oil company, chief executive officer Jose Coelho resigned following a fuel price increase that has angered Brazil’s president Bolsonaro and prompted calls for a congressional inquiry. President Bolsonaro expected Petrobras to delay its decision on fuel hikes until next week, when the congress is expected to vote on a series of proposals to lower fuel taxes. Transportation costs already comprise the largest component of an 11.7% inflation rate.
