Russia’s president Putin will leave his country for the first time since the invasion began by visiting Tajikistan and later travelling to Turkmenistan. Tajikistan, a former Soviet Republic and an ally of Russia, is the poorest nation of the former Soviet Republics and is also heavily dependent on Russia economically through remittances.
