At the NATO summit, several announcements were made in light of the ‘changed security environment in Europe’. According to Stoltenberg, new measures will be introduced to step up political and practical support to partners, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, and the Republic of Moldova. Meanwhile, the Georgian finance minister has welcomed a ‘series of decisions’ that will help strengthen the country’s defense capabilities and bring Georgia closer to its ultimate goal of NATO membership. It is not clear when Georgia might attain its goal.
