On Monday, Tunisia began talks with the IMF over a possible $2bln loan package. The talks follow the recent completion of technical discussions between the country and the IMF. The fund welcomed Tunisia’s proposed economic reforms, while the country’s UGTT labor union opposes the planned reforms and plans to repeat a national strike that took place last month.
