Belarus’ annual inflation rate accelerated to 17% in the first five months of this year. According to the Belarusian finance minister, the increase in prices of imported products caused the country’s surging inflation. Meanwhile, the nation’s government approved a program which aims to legalize parallel imports, transition to paying for energy resources in rubles and enhance policy transparency measures.
