Brazil’s energy minister lifted a requirement imposed in the 1990s on all foreign trade activities involving lithium products to secure authorization from the National Nuclear Energy Commission, as the government aims to join the race to produce a key component in electric-vehicle batteries at a time of tight supply and high prices.
