Kyrgyzstan

Kyrgyzstan government is close to an agreement with Russia to import 875 mln kWh of power in 2023-2024, which is close to 5% of annual consumption. This deal with Russia is part of a broader plan by Kyrgyzstan to import up to 2.2 bln kWh of electricity this year. So far, Kyrgyzstan has imported electricity from its closest neighbors to top up supplies. In January, it imported electricity from Kazakhstan, and a month later, it began receiving deliveries from Turkmenistan as part of a deal to import 1.6 bln kWh from that country.
