Azerbaijan finance ministry has released a press release on the execution of the Q1 2023 budget. According to the report, the country had a cash surplus of USD 1 bln. The surplus was reported even after excluding a large transfer from SOFAZ, which suggests that the current budget spending is almost entirely funded by the local tax base.
