The IMF’s Executive Board approved the first review of the ECF Arrangement and the 2023 Article IV Consultation with Tanzania, enabling the immediate disbursement of SDR 113.37 mln (about USD 153 mln) for budget support. The fund noted that after a modest recovery in 2021, real GDP growth slowed to 4.7% in 2022 due to global economic conditions and rainfall shortfalls but is expected to recover to 5.2% in 2023.
