Sri Lanka annual inflation rate slowed to 35.3% in April, the lowest in a year, from upwardly revised 50.4% in March, with core inflation easing to 27.8% from 39.1% in March. Meanwhile, the country’s parliament voted to support implementing the IMF’s four-year program aimed at solving the country’s economic crisis and reducing its debt burden. The IMF program, in which nearly USD 3 bln will be disbursed in stages, will determine how the country’s economy will operate in the years ahead.
