Ukraine’s finance minister has pleaded for more financial backing from Western partners as the country’s budget needs remain high. The EU is providing EUR 20 bln in loans this year to help fill a budget hole estimated at EUR 3-4 bln per month. The US, IMF loans, and other bilateral contributions fill the remaining gap. The finance minister estimates that EUR 18 bln will be needed.
