The early vote count in Paraguay election showed ruling party candidate Santiago Pena leading with almost 46% of the vote, while his main opposition Efrain Alegre had about 29%. Investors didn’t show much concern ahead of the election, with the currency appreciating 1.4% YTD against the USD. Paraguay’s global bonds returned about 75% during the same period, compared to peers in Central and South America, which gained an average of 110%.
