Vietnam annual inflation rate hit a 14-month low of 2.43% in May, owing to a deceleration in food and transport prices. Core inflation also fell to a seven-month low. Despite a slight increase in consumer prices in May, Vietnam posted a significant trade surplus of USD 2.24 bln, as exports dropped by 5.9% YoY amid weakening global demand, while imports slumped by 18.4% in the same period.
