Paraguay has issued USD 500 mln in global bonds due in 2033 at a 5.85% interest rate. Initially planned for January but postponed due to high-interest rates, the sale proceeded when the Fed decided to delay rate hikes. The bond issuance was oversubscribed by 6.2 times, with USD 430 mln of the proceeds funding this year’s expenditures and USD 70 mln reducing the outstanding balance of Paraguay’s 2026 global bond to USD 457 mln.
