Argentina met two payment obligations to the IMF before the due date on Friday, as negotiations for a new staff-level agreement will continue in Washington next week. The IMF confirmed that Argentina remains current with its financial obligations to the Fund. The country utilized USD 1 bln in yuan from a currency swap line with China and USD 1.7 bln of SDR issued by the IMF for the repayments. Talks for a new agreement concerning Argentina’s USD 44 bln program have been ongoing for several weeks.
