Colombia’s central bank held its benchmark interest rate steady at 13.25%, as was widely anticipated. That follows a 25 bps increase in the previous meeting and marks the first rate-holding decision in nearly two years. Despite the annual inflation rate in May slowing to 12.36%, it still remains significantly above the bank’s long-term 3% target.
