Sri Lanka is in talks with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) to secure USD 220 mln of financing for its power sector, according to energy minister Wijesekera. The funds would be allocated for transmission and grid development and project development. Separately, the ADB has approved a USD 50 mln loan to assist Nepal’s government in implementing policy reforms to enhance domestic and international trade.
