Tanzania’s annual inflation rate softened for the fifth month to an over-one-year low of 3.6% in June, down from 4% in the prior month, mainly driven by a further slowdown in food and transportation costs. The annual core rate eased to 1.7% in June, the lowest since July 2018, from 2% in the prior month. Monthly, consumer prices rose by 0.1% in June after rising by 0.2% in the previous month.
