Mauritius’s trade deficit widened to 28.3 bln rupees in May 2023, up from 15 bln a year earlier. Imports rose 2.16% to 29.24 bln rupees, while exports also increased but at a slower pace of 3.4% YoY to 8.9 bln, mainly driven by rising food products.
