Ukraine’s economy ministry maintained a conservative growth forecast of 2.8% for 2023, despite the potential for real GDP growth of up to 5%. The head of the forecasting department explained that the forecast is an integral part of the budgeting process, and as such, they are hesitant to adjust the basis for budgeting regularly. The central bank has a closely aligned growth forecast of 2.9% for the year, released last week.
