Mozambique’s president, Filipe Nyusi, expressed interest in converting the country’s debts to Russia into funding for development projects. While the amount owed is not crippling, it is significant for the national economy. If this plan is accepted, priority would be given to Russian investments in the education, health, agriculture, and tourism sectors and infrastructure for development.
