In Belarus, amid an escalating crackdown on dissent, the supreme court has mandated the dissolution of the veteran opposition party, the United Civil Party. This decision comes on the heels of the disbandment of the notable Belarusian Popular Front Party on August 14. Since the beginning of the year, Belarusian authorities have also terminated the operations of several other political entities, including the Green Party, the Republican Party, the Social Democratic Party of People’s Accord, and the Belarusian Social Democratic Party.
