Malaysia’s trade surplus narrowed to 17.1 bln ringgit in July, down from 25.55 bln in the previous month. This drop was due to a 13.1% fall in exports, influenced by declining mining, agricultural, and manufacturing activity. Imports also decreased, falling 15.9% YoY in July. Despite this, Malaysia’s trade surplus for the first seven months of the year widened to 135.3 bln ringgit, up from 123 bln in the same period last year.
