Guinea is sending its trade minister, Louopou Lamah, to India to negotiate an exemption from India’s ban on rice exports. India, the world’s largest rice exporter, placed restrictions on all rice varieties, which could lead to a tightening of global supply. Several other countries approached India with a similar request.
