A study by Barclays Plc warns that investors in sovereign bonds are underestimating the risk associated with countries’ failure to protect their natural capital, such as water, air, and soil. The study points out that countries with junk ratings, such as Bangladesh and Ethiopia, are most exposed to this risk, along with lower investment-grade countries like the Philippines, Indonesia, and India.
