Russian president Putin stated that Russia will not reinstate the UN-backed deal allowing Ukraine to export grain via the Black Sea unless obstacles to Russia’s own agricultural exports are removed. Following a meeting with Turkish president Erdogan, they confirmed plans to send one million tons of Russian grain via Turkey to African nations. The original deal, known as the Black Sea Grain Initiative, had helped to ease global food prices, and Ukraine was hopeful Turkey could help reinstate it.
