The UAE has committed USD 450 mln to the African Climate Markets Initiative, announced at the Africa Climate Summit in Nairobi, Kenya. The funding, provided through the UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators, aims to boost the production of high-quality carbon credits in Africa and satisfy the UAE’s demand. In other news, Germany is offering Kenya a EUR 60 mln debt swap to fund climate-related projects. No further details were disclosed.
