The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) disclosed that it would be able to allocate USD 6 bln more than initially anticipated for arms supplies to Ukraine, attributing this to accounting errors. Deputy spokesperson Sabrina Singh announced that the department had overvalued the weapons dispatched from its inventory by USD 2.6 bln in FY22 and USD 3.6 bln in FY23, totaling USD 6.2 bln. In parallel, the UK committed to guaranteeing USD 3 bln of World Bank loans to Kyiv over the next three years to bolster its economic stability. These developments occur as Ukraine, pushing a counteroffensive to recapture more territory from Russian forces, advocates for increased aid. Officials from Ukraine’s main allies are meeting in London this week to discuss reconstruction funding.
