The Netherlands and Denmark have committed to helping establish a USD 1 bln green hydrogen fund for South African projects. This fund underpins South Africa’s shift from coal to renewable energy, capitalizing on its rich wind and solar resources to produce green hydrogen, a natural gas alternative. This initiative coincides with South Africa’s USD 8.5 bln climate finance pact with some of the world’s wealthiest nations.
