Afreximbank has agreed to consider restructuring Malawi’s USD 850 mln debt with the bank and the Trade and Development Bank (TDB) to facilitate the country securing an IMF loan. Afreximbank’ s president assured Malawi’s president Lazarus Chakwera of the bank’s support in pursuing this debt restructuring, which is crucial for securing the four-year ECF from the IMF.
