Tanzania’s central bank plans to buy six tons of gold to diversify reserves, having already procured and refined 418 kilograms. Governor Emmanuel Tutuba urges major gold exporters in Tanzania to reinvest gold export revenues within 90 days of sale, in line with FX rules. Central bank data shows gold exports were valued at USD 2.93 bln up to July 2023, an increase from USD 2.7 bln the prior year.
