US Secretary of Defense Austin, during his meeting with Mozambique’s President Nyusi, lauded several of the president’s initiatives, including elevating the role of women in security and countering extremist groups in northern Mozambique. Both countries have signed a USD 500 mln deal with the Millennium Challenge Corporation, aimed at infrastructure development in Mozambique’s Zambezia Province.
