Serbia paused its monetary easing after two consecutive interest-rate cuts, leaving its one-week repo rate at 6%. During the last meeting, the central bank had taken advantage of a slowdown in inflation to start easing in June. Annual price growth slowed to 3.8% in June, compared with a peak of more than 16% early last year. Core inflation remains elevated, accelerating to 5.1% in June from 5% in May.
