Bolivia approached its Legislative Assembly to sanction a USD 223 mln loan with a 15-year maturity and 5.5-year grace from CAF to fund the construction of a 120km road linking Uyuni City to the Chilean border. This loan is one of nine multilateral loans totaling USD 970 mln awaiting legislative nod. The impasse, fueled by the division between President Luis Arce’s supporters and ex-president Evo Morales’s followers, hampers the approval of these vital loans to address Bolivia’s FX crunch.
