Egypt’s external debt service rose to USD 23.8 bln in the first nine months of FY 2023/2024, a significant increase from USD 17.8 bln in the same period the previous year. This rise includes increases in principal and interest payments. As of March 2024, Egypt’s total external debt was USD 160.6 bln, about USD 4.1 bln lower than in June 2023.
