Botswanan opposition activists, under the Umbrella for Democratic Change coalition, marched in Gaborone over the weekend before general elections, protesting alleged interference by Zimbabwe in favor of Botswana’s ruling party. Police dispersed the crowd with guns, batons, and road barricades, preventing them from reaching the Zimbabwean embassy.
