Nigeria’s naira is projected to weaken to 2,200 per USD over the next 12 months, with inflation at 30%, according to Charlie Robertson, chief economist at Renaissance Capital Africa. If inflation slows to 25%, the Naira could decline to 2,100, and 2,000 with 20% inflation. Nigeria’s inflation rose to 33.9% YoY in October, up from 32.7%, and the Naira closed at 1,652.25 on Friday. The currency weakened by 45% this year.
