Laos posted a trade deficit of USD 154 mln in September, marking the ninth consecutive month of deficit in 2024. Total trade value for the month exceeded USD 1 bln, with exports at USD 455 mln and imports at USD 609 mln. Key exports included gold, electric equipment, rubber, and copper ore. The government aims to curb imports of locally producible goods and strengthen domestic production for export.
