China

President-elect Donald Trump has promised to impose 10% tariffs on all imports from China once he takes office next month. However, this may be difficult to fully enforce due to loopholes and discrepancies in trade data, which have led to tens of billions of dollars worth of Chinese goods possibly evading tariffs. The gap, which has steadily increased since 2020, is expected to exceed USD 64 bln in the first 10 months of this year.
