Senegal is preparing a financial audit, expected in the coming weeks, which is a key step in negotiating a new loan with the IMF. The audit follows a review by President Bassirou Diomaye Faye’s government that uncovered discrepancies in economic data previously reported by the former administration. The USD 1.8 bln loan program agreed in 2023 is currently on hold.
