Zambia’s annual inflation rate remained at 16.7% in January, unchanged from December, as the effects of drought and currency depreciation begin to subside. Non-food inflation slowed to 13.2%, while food prices rose by 19.2%. The stable inflation could influence the central bank to maintain its key interest rate at 14% following its half-point hike in November.
