Azerbaijan’s economy contracted by 0.9% YoY in January, mostly driven by contraction in the energy sector. Gas production and exports declined last month after BP closed one platform at the Shah Deniz deposit, because of a technical issue. Gas exports to Europe fell 9.1% YoY in January.
