Namibia’s trade deficit in January 2025 increased to 2.7 bln Namibian dollars (approx. USD 145.7 mln), up from a 129 mln Namibian dollar deficit in December 2024. Exports totaled 10.7 billion Namibian dollars, down 15% from December and 7.9% from January 2024. Imports rose to 13.4 billion Namibian dollars, a 5.7% increase from December, but 2% lower YoY. South Africa remains Namibia’s top trading partner, followed by the United States and China.
