Namibia’s President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah appointed a new deputy and streamlined the cabinet to 14 ministries from 21. The new government has consolidated key ministries, including oil and gas oversight under the president’s office. Namibia expects to become a key oil and gas producer, with commercial production anticipated as early as 2029. The government aims to create 500,000 jobs and invest N$85 billion in infrastructure, manufacturing, and renewable energy over the next five years.
