Egypt has entered into a cooperation agreement to develop, build, finance, and operate an integrated plant for green hydrogen production and its derivatives. The agreement involves the Red Sea Ports Authority, New and Renewable Energy Authority, and the Green Fuels Alliance (which includes EDF Renewables and Zero Waste). The plant, located in Ras Shukeir, will produce 1 mln tons of green ammonia annually in three phases starting in 2029, with a total investment of EUR 7 bln.
