Argentina

The IMF reached a staff-level agreement for a new USD 20 bln loan for Argentina, pending approval from the IMF’s executive board. The deal, which supports Argentina’s free-market reforms, would be the country’s 23rd IMF program. The funds aim to stabilize Argentina’s economy amid global challenges. President Javier Milei’s outreach to the Trump administration also included negotiations for a 10% tariff on Argentine imports, seen as a relatively favorable outcome.
