India proposed imposing import duties on select US products in retaliation to Washington’s tariffs on Indian steel and aluminum, according to a WTO notice. New Delhi said the US measures affected USD 7.6 bln of Indian exports and offered to reduce the tariff gap by two-thirds to reach a deal. The proposed suspension of concessions would raise tariffs on targeted US goods.
