Three Georgian opposition politicians have been jailed, the first to be convicted in a series of prosecutions aimed at critics of the government who refused to cooperate in giving evidence to parliament. Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze, of the Lelo for Georgia party, and Zurab Japaridze of the Coalition for Change bloc, were sentenced to between seven and eight months in prison.
