Ghana’s President Mahama appointed Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson as acting defence minister following a helicopter crash that killed Defence Minister Edward Omane Boamah, Environment Minister Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, and three airforce crew. The flight was headed to Obuasi when it crashed; no cause has yet been disclosed.
