Data from Bangladesh’s central bank shows the country’s trade deficit narrowed by 48.4% YoY to USD 17.15 bln in the year to June from USD 33.25 bln a year prior. That is due to a 6.3% YoY rise in exports and a 15.8% drop in imports in the 2022-23 fiscal year. The current account deficit was USD 3.33 bln in FY23, compared to USD 18.64 a year earlier.
